Maku Free Zone Organization – Public Relations: Following the concerted efforts and initiatives undertaken by the Maku Free Zone Organization, the first international flight from Maku Free Zone International Airport to the Republic of Dagestan, Russia, was successfully operated by Mahan Air.

Commenting on this significant achievement, Hossein Garousi, CEO of the Maku Free Zone Organization, expressed his satisfaction with the establishment of the new international air connection, describing it as an important step toward strengthening the region’s air transportation infrastructure. He also extended his appreciation to all responsible authorities and institutions for their valuable cooperation and support.

Emphasizing the vital role of inter-agency coordination in launching the new flight route, the CEO praised the efforts of the units stationed at the airport, particularly the Airport Police, the Aviation Protection Corps, the Director General of Bazargan Customs, the Passport Administration, and the relevant authorities at the Bazargan border crossing.

Garousi also expressed his appreciation for the valuable support and efforts of Brigadier General Salman, Commander of the West Azerbaijan Provincial Police, and his dedicated colleagues; the Director General of the West Azerbaijan Provincial Intelligence Department and his colleagues; as well as Colonel Toluie, Head of the Provincial Passport Administration, and his colleagues.

He emphasized that the close cooperation and support of provincial and regional authorities had provided an effective foundation for facilitating and launching this new international air route. According to Garousi, such coordination and solidarity will contribute to expanding international trade, tourism, and economic exchanges between Maku Free Zone and other countries.

The establishment of this air route marks an important step toward strengthening the international position of the Maku Free Zone and facilitating the movement of passengers, businesspeople, investors, and economic operators between the region and neighboring countries. It is also expected to contribute to the development of international commercial and tourism relations and further enhance the region’s connectivity with international destinations.
