The Republic of Tatarstan Interested in Expanding Economic Relations with Maku Free Zone

Marat Minibayev, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan (who heads the delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan at the “Eurasia International Exhibition” in Tehran) expressed the interest of this republic to expand economic cooperation in the fields of oil and gas, machinery, food industry and agriculture with Maku Free Zone.

According to the Maku Free Zone news site, Marat Minibayev, the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan, in an interview with the reporters, added: In this exhibition, we see unique economic capacities in Iran’s free zones, especially Maku Free Zone due to its proximity to Eurasian Union and it plays a special role in economic development.

Referring to the general meeting on the development of economic relations between the member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, the Shanghai Organization and the countries of the Persian Gulf, he said: Iran has a good capacity in the field of oil and gas, industries, mines and tourism and can play a central role.

Minibayev referring to stable commercial and economic cooperation between Russia and Iran, added: Trade unions of Tatarstan also find the Iranian market attractive.

This foreign official pointed to the export of fat, oil and mechanical devices from Tatarstan and said: I am sure that we will increase bilateral turnover in the coming years. Our republic is always open to new projects and we are ready for bilateral cooperation with Iranian business people.
