What Are the Operational Plans of Mahan Tourism Holding Company in Maku Free Zone

Mahan Tourism Holding Company, as one of the key companies in the field of tourism and agriculture, in addition to the investment made in the agricultural field of Maku Free Zone, launches tourism projects worth 10 thousand billion Tomans in this zone.

According to Maku Free Zone news site, following last year’s agreements at the presence of executive bodies including Iran Water Resources Company, East and West Azerbaijan Regional Water Company, General Directorate of Environmental Protection, General Directorate of Natural Resources and General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Tourism of Azerbaijan Province, and announcing the readiness of Mahan Airlines to invest in the agricultural and tourism sectors, the agreement between Maku Free Zone Organization and Mahan Holding Company was signed.

CEO of Maku Free Zone Organization said: In line with the Supreme Leader’s guidelines for the resistance economy, production and people’s participation, in order to use the capacities of the free zones in the development of agriculture, tourism, and creating employment and attracting capital for investment the agreement has been signed for agricultural plans to build modern and mechanized tourism and ecological gardens in Maku Free Zone.

Referring to the provisions of this agreement, Hosein Garousi added: Following the agreements made with the Iran Water Resources Management Company and the Regional Water Company of East Azerbaijan Province regarding tourism investment in Aras Dam, an agreement in principle based on the plan presented by Maku Free Zone for Mahan Company was issued.

Garousi emphasized: In order to develop the eco-tourism and geo-park industry in the region, it was agreed that Mahan Airlines should prepare a tourism plan for the basaltic rocks of Boralan region with an area of 3,000 hectares with the approach of environmental protection and eco-tourism.
